Minimum Requirements

For admission to the Khatma group course, the basic requirements are:

  1. Students must be 10 years or older
  2. Must have the ability to read Arabic words with knowledge of the minimum basic rules of Tajweed.
  3. Must have access to an Internet connection.

Minimum Requirements

For admission to the Tajweed Easy Starter program, the basic requirements are:

  • 12 years and above.
  • Ability to read Arabic words (low level accepted).
  • High speed Internet connection.

Minimum Requirements

  • 12 years and above.
  • Proficiency in reading Arabic language.
  • Basic knowledge of Tajweed.
  • High speed Internet connection.

The applicants who do not meet the above requirement mentioned in point 3 are advised to complete the following course at the GQMC platform: Tajweed Easy Starter, which will enable them to acquire the fundamental knowledge of Tajweed rules.

Minimum Requirements for Admission

The minimum requirements for the admission to the Quran Memorization Groups – Proficient Level program are:

  1. Having already memorized the whole Al-Quran Al-Kareem or 15 chapters and above. (This course is for revision and not for memorizing any new chapter).
  2. Good level of recitation and Tajweed rules.
  3. Evaluation: Students have 2 options:

A- Each student should send us their recorded recitation of the first 2 pages of Surat Al-Ma’idah and 2 pages of Surat Al-Qamar (free of charge). The recording should be sent at gqmc.helpdesk@iou.edu.gm

B- Female students who do not wish to send recordings must pass the online recitation test (15 to 30 minutes) to see if they are eligible for this course or to advise them to take another course.

Students who opt to take the test will be charged USD 5.

For admission to the One Ayah A Day program, the basic requirements are:

  • 10 years of age and above.
  • Reading the Arabic language at a good level.
  • Knowledge of the basic rules of tajweed.
  • (Recommended) Knowledge of the basic rules of Tajweed. Students with a moderate or low level of Tajweed rules can also join this program.
  • High-speed Internet connection. Students who have a slow Internet connection or under some circumstances could memorize with their teacher by sending the recorded recitation through WhatsApp, Telegram, etc. on condition that they attend one live session per week for evaluation.

  • Reasonable ability to recite Quran with tajweed

Minimum Requirements

The minimum requirements for the admission into the Ijaazah program are:

    1. Minimum age: 16

(Students who are younger than 16 could join the One-on-One Quran program to recite the whole Quran from their memory and receive a Certificate of Quran Memorization from the GQMC).

    1. Having already memorized the whole Al-Quran Al-Kareem OR a very good level of memorization of a minimum of 15 juz (chapters) on a condition to complete the memorization with a teacher in the same IOU Ijaazah program. The new 15 chapters will then be reviewed repeatedly until fixed in the memory over 1 or 2 semesters according to the student’s ability to memorize.

*Note: the ijaazah is an Amanah (a trust) in front of Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) so the student who:

– has memorized 15 chapters and has not memorized the entire Quran yet,

OR

– needs to improve his/her level of recitation and tajweed to be eligible for the ijaazah program,

will have a trial month to determine the level of memorization and recitation. If the level is intermediate or less, the student has to join a one-on-one program for one or two semesters or more until the student reaches a good or advanced level.

    1. Reciting to the teacher with eyes covered.
    2. Ability to recite the Quran with tajweed.

Since this certificate (Ijaazah) is the same as the one held by the senior professors, students who wish to gain this honor will have to recite from the memory the majority of the Quranic chapters to confirm that they have reached the level of perfection of memorization, and correct application of tajweed rules.

The minimum requirements for the admission to the Quran Memorization Program are:

  1. 12 years and above.
  2. Proficiency in reading Arabic language.
  3. Knowledge of the basic rules of tajweed.
  4. Reasonable ability to recite Quran with tajweed.
  5. High speed Internet connection.

The applicants who do not meet the above requirements (point 2 to 4) are obliged to complete the following courses of the IOU Advanced Diploma, which enable them to acquire the knowledge of tajweed rules:

  • Tajweed 101
  • Tajweed 102
